leave a tiny gap and use a straight edge

Posted by Greg Larsen on May 1st 2023

How to make them perfectly straight: I was initially frustrated because I just butted up the tracks and tightened the clamps. Please understand, even with the MUCH more expensive Makita and Festool tracks, they advise you to leave a 1-2 mm gap and use a straight edge before tightening the connectors. Once you know this, I can't imagine spending the extra bucks for the other brands. My saw slides smoothly and the track stays put even w/out clamps.
