The guide/bit assembly is spring loaded and locks into the base with indexing tabs, so you can be sure that the holes you drill will be perfectly positioned. The jig also includes a carbide-tipped 35mm drill bit that will drill the holes cleanly and smoothly, without chipping or breaking the wood.
The jig has indexing tabs that allow you to quickly and easily adjust the position of the bit to match the offset of the hinge you are using. How To Use:
- Determine the spacing required for your hinges.
- Remove the cutter/guide assembly from the base of the jig.
- Press up to remove the pins and replace them on the side of the jig needed.
- Align the pilot hole template correctly and clamp the jig to the cabinet side of the door.
- Drill two 1/16" holes using the pilot hole template.
- Place the guide/bit assembly in an electric drill with a 3/8" chuck and lock it into the base of the jig.
- Drill until the stop collar hits the drill guide, setting the proper depth.
